About Moxi

Your Skin, But Better.

Moxi is Sciton's gentle fractionated 1927nm wavelength laser — a non-ablative treatment that creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones in the skin, stimulating cellular turnover and collagen remodeling without ablating the surface.

The result is improved texture, more even tone, reduced discoloration, and a refreshed glow. Moxi is particularly effective for melasma-prone patients, early photodamage, and patients wanting maintenance-level skin quality improvements.

Moxi is safe for a wider range of skin tones than BBL, making it an excellent option for patients with medium to darker complexions (Fitzpatrick I–V).

  • Arrive with a clean, product-free face — no makeup or SPF
  • Inform your provider of any medications, especially antibiotics or photosensitizers

Post-Treatment Care

  • Apply SPF 30+ daily — sun protection is critical for results and safety
  • Avoid heat — saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms — for 48–72 hours
  • Use gentle cleanser and moisturizer only for the first week
  • Do not pick or scratch treated skin as it heals
  • Resume retinoids and active skincare only after skin fully heals
  • MENDS will appear as a sandy, bronzed texture — do not pick or scrub

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Moxi best for?

Moxi excels at improving overall skin quality — texture, tone, discoloration, and radiance. Particularly effective for early photodamage and as a maintenance laser for patients wanting year-round skin quality improvements.

How is Moxi different from BBL?

BBL targets specific chromophores (brown pigment, blood vessels) using light energy. Moxi is a fractionated laser that works on texture and collagen. They're highly complementary — which is why we offer the BBL + Moxi Combo as our most popular laser treatment.

Is Moxi safe for darker skin tones?

Yes — Moxi's 1927nm wavelength is safe for Fitzpatrick I–V at appropriate settings. Avoiding sun exposure before and after is essential regardless of skin tone.

Can I do Moxi if I have melasma?

Moxi can benefit melasma at lower, conservative settings. However, melasma is heat-sensitive and aggressive laser treatment can worsen it. A consultation is essential before treating melasma with any laser.
